Georgios N. Yannakakis is a Professor at the Institute of Digital Games, University of Malta, and co-founder of humanfeedback.ai and modl.ai. He is an internationally recognized scholar in artificial intelligence and game research, widely regarded as a leading expert at the intersection of AI and games, with over 20 years of experience in this field and pioneering contributions in player modeling, emotion representation, game testing, and procedural content generation. He has acted as a coordinator, and principal investigator of numerous multi-million European grants. He has 7 US patents granted, over 400 research papers published in top-tier conferences and journals, and his work has been cited broadly (h-index 70). His work has been featured in New Scientist, Science Magazine, The Guardian, Le Monde, and other venues. He is regularly invited to give keynote talks at the most recognised conferences in his field and has organised several of the most respected conferences in game AI and game research. He is the Editor in Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Games, the co-author of the Artificial Intelligence and Games book, and the co-organiser of the AI and Games Summer School. Georgios is an IEEE Fellow.
