Chris Sandbrook is a conservation social scientist at the University of Cambridge. He has a range of research interests around the central theme of biodiversity conservation and its relationship with society. His current research investigates (i) the relationship between conservation and development in theory and practice, (ii) the social and political implications of new technologies for conservation, and (iii) the values and viewpoints of conservationists and how these influence conservation practice. He is Director of the Cambridge Masters in Conservation Leadership and currently serves as Chair of the Cambridge Conservation Initiative, a partnership between the University of Cambridge and nine international conservation organizations.
