GamiFIN will again be held in the snowy and magical Lapland of Finland!

GamiFIN 2027 conference welcomes several types of submissions, including workshop proposals and doctoral consortium applications. The conference offers two main submission categories: Proceedings Submissions and Presentation-Only Submissions.

Proceedings Submissions are archival contributions that will be published in the ACM International Conference Proceedings Series (ACM ICPS). These submissions include Research Articles, Work-in-Progress Papers, Posters, Demos, and Workshop Proposals. The submissions will undergo a suitability desk-screening, and those accepted for review will be forwarded to the Program Committee. The accepted contributions will feature in the main conference session. Posters and Demos will also be exhibited in the sessions allocated for this purpose.

In addition to proceedings-published submissions, GamiFIN includes a presentation-only track for high-quality contributions accepted for presentation at the conference but not published in the ACM proceedings. This track includes Development Papers, Spotlights, Exhibits, Extended Abstracts* and Doctoral Consortium Notes. These submissions are non-archival contributions intended for sharing emerging ideas, practical insights, ongoing projects, and interactive experiences without publication in the proceedings. Accepted presentation-only contributions will be presented in dedicated demonstration and poster sessions, paper development workshop, or doctoral consortium as part of the conference programme.

*Extended abstracts are submissions for the special-themed workshops. These will be announced in January.

Submission guidelines

All submissions, whether they will be ACM-published or presentation-only, including Research articles, Posters, WIP Papers, and Demonstrations, are required to use the ACM single-column template. Templates are available in both LaTeX (including Overleaf) and Word formats:

In LaTeX and Overleaf, please use the following command in the document preamble \documentclass[manuscript,review,anonymous]{acmart}

Word limits per submission type apply to all content, including figures, tables, or other elements typically found in an article, and exclude references or appendices.

Submissions must be in PDF format and prepared for double-anonymous peer review, with all identifying information removed. Official ACM downloadable templates and instructions are available at:

Accepted ACM-published papers will be published in the ACM International Conference Proceedings Series (ICPS), included in the ACM Digital Library, and indexed in Scopus, DBLP, Web of Science, and EI Compendex.

When considering which submission category to choose, such as Research Articles, Work-in-Progress papers, Demos, or Posters, we encourage authors to carefully evaluate the maturity and quality of their work before submission. All submission types will undergo peer review and are expected to meet appropriate academic and professional standards. Different categories are designed to support different stages and forms of research contribution.
